When David fled from Saul for fear of his life, Achish, King of Gath agreed to assign David and his servants a place in the country town called Ziklag. When Achish and the Philistines were getting ready to fight against Israel, David wanted to join them. “So Achish called David and said to him, ‘As surely as the LORD lives, you have been reliable, and I would be pleased to have you serve with me in the army. From the day you came to me until now, I have found no fault in you, but the rulers don’t approve of you. Turn back and go in peace; do nothing to displease the Philistine rulers” 1 Samuel 29:6-7.
David was still allowed to live in his assigned place but was not given the same rights as a citizen. He was a stranger in his assigned town and was subject to the approval of man.
How many times do we feel like a stranger or alien in our assigned seasons? We are living through a season where we can't seem to find our peace, value or satisfaction. We are simply existing without real purpose and our future seems based on the outcome of something or the approval of someone else.
By seeking the approval of God instead of man we are able to gain the satisfaction and approval of God with any season in which we are living. Man comes with his own agenda and rarely matches what God has for us.
Father, help me keep my eyes on your agenda, your favor and your assignment. Don't allow the opinions of others to dissuade me from accomplishing the goals you have for me in this assignment for the Kingdom. Amen.

Our Sunday School lesson this morning is based on the life of Philip as a model of consistency. He preached the message of good news about the Kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ resulting in many to be baptized.
God also directed Philip to travel to a lonely desert road, where he encountered an Ethiopian official. This person did not understand what he was reading about Old Testament scripture. Philip explained the scripture and led the official to the Lord Jesus, baptizing him.
Dear Lord, I ask this day for the baptizing of Your Holy Spirit as I teach this lesson.
Thanks be to God for healing daughter Beth.
