Our Profit Margin

But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord…Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me…All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too G...od will make clear to you. Only let us live up to what we have already attained” Philippians 3:7-8, 12, 15-16.

It only takes a season of deep setback in whatever we elevate in our lives to truly understand the greatness of knowing Christ. Seldom in our prosperity do we experience the transforming and life changing truths of God. I know that for me and Bruce we have had a year where instead of getting glimpses of God we have been full out searching for Him…standing on our tiptoes trying to get even a tiny glimpse of Him …trying to recognize His leadings in everything pursuing His purpose and plan. Now that we are coming out on the other side, we come out with certain truths that we have attained. One truth is that whatever we hold tightly God will loosen. Another truth is whatever we lack God will provide. We recognize that God will fulfill what He has purposed for our lives. Mostly importantly, we see that the goals we hold close to our heart must be the same goals that Christ takes hold of for our lives. We are so humbled and grateful for the things that God has made clear to us in the season. As Paul states we are to live up to the lessons learned in this transformation period. We are responsible for what we have learned and received from God, and are to apply it to our lives. That will be our profit: taking God’s beautiful truths transforming us more in the image of His son, and walking the truths out to reflect His glory. NOW THAT IS PROFIT MARGIN THAT HOLDS MORE SECURITY THAN ANY OTHER!

Be encouraged that whatever season you are in will be not only for your spiritual growth but for others to see the glory of God in your walk. We are not called to perfect holiness for we would all fail, but we are called to progressive holiness. And one beautiful day, we will find ourselves in the eternal country where we were born to reside.

But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior” Philippians 3:20
