Looking Beyond the Hills

"I lift up my eyes to the hills - where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth" Psalm 121:1-2.

As my family goes into the weekend leading up to my sister's cancer treatment results it is easy for fears and emotions to be resurrected. We scan our hills for results, encouragement and resolution of healing. We are hungry for healing but have no control over the situation.

When we focus on the hill instead of the Creator we see the hill for what it is worth:

Impassable paths
Charred and burned up sections
Venomous snakes
Abrupt cliffs

When we focus above the hill onto the Creator we realize that everything on the hill is under His authority and our help for every situation comes from Him.

Dear Lord I pray for Beth and Paul this weekend that they may rest in your love, and that you will provide the strength needed to enjoy each other and this weekend.

Father, I also lift up the scan results facing Beth and Paul on Monday. Prepare them and us to accept your will in this matter.

In the name of Jesus Christ, AMEN AND AMEN!

Thank you Dear Lord for the day after Beth and Paul received the news about her cancer. I pray right now for the bile the MRI to reveal the bile duct to be open so further treatment can occur.

We thank you Dear Lord for the research facilities at Duke, UNC, and Wake Forest that are doing the research and development through the knowledge you have provided to the medical specialist.

And we also thank you for the healing process which has already begun in daughter Beth.
