Surrender to the King...

“I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked…That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 1 Co. 11:27 & 1 Co. 12:10

We cannot abide in this life without experiencing pain and suffering. These were the words of Paul as he pursued his new life in Christ. He experienced sacrifice and suffering in ways we can only imagine through his words. Pain and suffering is relative to the person experiencing the trial. It is not up to us to judge their anxieties and adversities – all suffering is real to the person in pain.

We will all labor and toil as we face our adversities. There will be many sleepless nights as we search for answers to our questions and peace to our chaos. We will hunger for resolution and be parched for the waters of comfort. We will be cold to our own lives with its hurricane forces and tumultuous winds. We will feel naked and exposed as we show the pain and suffering as we walk through our valleys.

When we lay down our pain and suffering and surrender all to the King others will be able to see God’s intervention, His plan and His power. We have stepped aside so that He may be shown as sovereign Savior and complete Healer.

We may see ourselves as broken in our valleys but others will see the glory of God on the mountaintop!

Surrender to the King…
